In celebration of Black History Month, the CSI Library, in collaboration with the Black Student Union and the Office of Student Life, invite you to an online event, "Black Student Life on Campus." The program will feature a discussion with members of the Black Student Union about the Black student experience through the lens of newly digitized student publications from across the decades. This CC CLUE event will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Advance registration can be found: here

With support from the Student Publications Board, the CSI Library's Archives and Special Collections recently built a platform for digitized student publications, including newspapers, magazines, journals, newsletters, and yearbooks from its predecessor colleges (Richmond College and Staten Island Community College) to the College of Staten Island's home at the Willowbrook campus. This ongoing project is available at:

In addition, a Black History Month Research Guide has been created in tandem with this event. We will continue to update this guide throughout the year with library resources devoted to Black history.

Some student publications include The Dolphin (1956-1975), Ancora (1959-1960), Horizons (1961-1973), The Richmond Times (1968-1976), The College Times (1977-1980), Serpentine (1978-2012), The College Voice (1980-2006), The Phoenix: A Journal of History (1982-1988), Third Rail (1996-2016), Inkwell (2006-2010), Artifacts (2006-2012), Caesura: A Literary Arts Magazine (2007-2015), and The Banner (1994-present). Select student yearbooks from 1968-2010 are also available.
