Welcome to the CSI Library’s guide to the newly acquired Gale Primary Sources-Archives Unbound, a collection of primary source materials that may be useful when doing research into certain topics in American History. Primary sources are original records and documents from specific time periods in history. Many of the documents in the Archives Unbound collection were compiled or written by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a result of their surveillance on certain groups or individuals. While often biased in their reasoning for compiling such materials, often these FBI files are the most comprehensive documentation on certain historical groups and individuals. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind the historical context of the FBI files when reading the documents and incorporating information from them into your assignments.
A full list of all of the Archives Unbound Collections the CSI Library has access to can be found through this link.
