Schuyler is a tri-coloured, pure bred, Shetland sheepdog (sheltie) and her parent is none other than Dean Sarolta Takács. She is from Schuylerville, New York and thus her name, Schuyler. Her “brother” is Troy, a black cat from Troy, New York.  She is a small dog with a big name. Pieter Schuyler was the first mayor of Albany, New York, and was acting governor of New York three times. When not at the College, Schuyler lives in Clermont, NY, close to the former country house of Robert Livingston, a Founding Father of the United States, and Bard College. When in the country, she loves to run, chase squirrels, and white cars!  Dean Takács and Schuyler attended Therapy Dog Training at Bard College and were trained by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. They are both members of the group. Schuyler was born January 23, 2021 and is almost three years old.
