by Christine McEvilly on 2025-03-04T15:49:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

CUNY has purchased two new collections of scholarly Sage resources! They represent a trove of materials on general social science reference and on how to do research in the social sciences. While mostly a collection of ebooks, the resources also include some videos and articles. All the books are accessible through the CSI Library's A-Z Database list or through OneSearch.

Content includes a variety of newer material and older, but reliable, reference sources.

Sage Reference & Academic Books has a strong collection of over 5,000 handbooks, specialist encyclopedias, and dictionaries. Disciplines covered are diverse within the social sciences, including business, education, global affairs, psychology, sociology, geography, social work, and communications.

Sage Research Methods is a collection of books and articles that address how to do both qualitative and quantitative research in the social sciences. Over 1,000 books address how to collect and analyze statistical data. Different methodologies are clearly explained across many different disciplines. The books cover both practical methods and their theoretical underpinnings. Users also have access to the Sage “project planner” which includes advice and checklists for the social science research process.
