Introducing the Internet Archive Scholar

Internet Archive Scholar

The Internet Archive Scholar searches over 25 million research articles and other scholarly documents from the Internet Archive. This collection includes digitized copies of 18th century journals through the latest Open Access conference proceedings indexed from the World Wide Web. Coverage includes content from the natural sciences, humanities, biomedicine, art, history, industrial research, and government reports. It locates content that is indexed from the Wayback Machine, digitized print materials from print and microform collections, and other digitized collections from archive.org

Metadata is culled from Fatcat Wiki, an open-access, user-generated catalog of scholarly work.  The user guide can be found here.

The Internet Archive Scholar is a non-profit project of the Internet Archive. Its index is smaller and more selective than Google scholar, and coverage is more transparent. This initiative is supported by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.  The Internet Archive is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit library that comprises a global archive of web sites and other digital artifacts.
