Multi-Factor Authentication is coming to your CUNY Login!

CUNY has decided to add Multi-Factor Authentication to all systems that use your CUNY Login. That includes Brightspace, CUNYFirst, Zoom, and all library resources. If you want to continue to be able to use library resources off campus, you will need to follow instructions from CSI's OIT office to help you get set up. You will need 10 minutes and access to both a computer and your phone. You can use your personal computer, a Library computer, or any campus computer lab for set up. You can direct questions to the Technology Help Desk at HelpDesk@csi.cuny.edu or call 718-982-HELP.

First, you will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. If you already use the Microsoft Authenticator app to get into your Microsoft 365 applications (like CSI email), then you don't need to download it again. Just continue with the setup and you will have two accounts in the App when you are finished.

On your computer, go CUNY MFA Self-Service (https://ssologin.cuny.edu/oaa/rui). Then follow the instructions in this PDF provided by CSI's OIT: Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Your CUNYfirst Login

After you complete the set up, you will be able to use your phone to log in once MFA becomes mandatory on July 1st. Just log in as usual and follow the prompts. You will use your phone to generate a six digit code that you will enter. Remember to use the CUNY Login account in the Authenticator App, not your 365 account!
