In celebration of Banned and Challenged Books Week this year (Sept 18-24, 2022), the CSI Library invites you to a facilitated panel discussion with CSI library faculty, New York Public Library librarians, and other members of the CSI community who will discuss the implications of the banning of books and the dangers of censorship in both academic and public libraries. Selected readings of banned book titles will be read and discussed. The panel discussion is a CC CLUE event and will be held via Zoom meeting during CLUB hours on Thurs Oct 6, 2022 (2:30pm-3:30pm).

The CSI Library is pleased to invite you to a virtual facilitated discussion on the implications of book bans and the dangers of censorship in both academic and public libraries. We will also have selected readings of banned books, and welcome members of the campus community to contact us if they wish to participate. In addition to co-sponsorship from the departments of Educational Studies and Curriculum & Instruction, Professor Emily Drabinski (Graduate Center, CUNY), incoming president of the American Library Association, will join the discussion.

When: Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 2:30pm-3:30pm via Zoom

This is an online CC Clue event.
