“Ida B. Wells: A Passion for Justice”                                                                                                                                       

Though virtually forgotten today, Ida B. Wells-Barnett was a household name in black America during much of her lifetime (1863-1931). This film is a stirring biography of a crusading journalist, anti-lynching campaigner, and black suffragette during the most repressive years of the Jim Crow period.

“Iron Jawed Angels”                                                                                                                                                                

This HBO film tells the dramatized story of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, leaders of suffragists who fought for the passage of the 19th Amendment. They broke from the mainstream women's rights movement to create a more activist wing, daring to push the boundaries to secure women's voting rights in 1920. 

“Inez Milholland ~ Forward Into Light”                                                                                                                                  

This documentary tells the story of American icon and native New Yorker, Inez Milholland who broke convention with her advocacy for gender equality, pacifism, racial justice, unions and free speech in the early Twentieth Century. She became the voice of suffrage.
