The Italian American Museum is now located in its permanent home at 155 Mulberry Street in the heart of New York’s “Little Italy”. This historic location on the corner of Mulberry and Grand Streets once housed “Banca Stabile” which was founded by Francesco Rosario Stabile in 1885. During its heyday, the bank offered the newly arrived immigrants from Italy much more than financial services. It was a link for the Immigrants in the United States with their relatives in Italy. In addition to a full range of banking services, it also provided the following services: telegraph, travel via steam ships, import-export, notary public, and post office; a kind of all in one immigrant community service center. It has been restored and preserved, and is now open to the public. It now serves as the cornerstone of the Italian American Museum from which we will tell our story in America.

The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational foundation that promotes Italian American culture and heritage. NIAF serves as a resource on the Italian American community and has educational and youth programs including scholarships, grants, heritage travel, and mentoring.

Founded in 1961, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York is an office of the Italian government, dedicated to the promotion of Italian language and culture in the United States through the organization of cultural events.

The Foundation for Italian Art and Culture, FIAC, is a non-profit, US incorporated organization established in New York City in 2003. FIAC's main purpose is to promote the knowledge and the appreciation of the Italian cultural and artistic traditions from the classical period to modern times in the United States and it works in closely with the Italian Ministry of Culture to accomplish this mission. In addition to sponsoring its own programs and exhibitions, FIAC acts as an intermediary between Italy and the United States to facilitate exchanges between American and Italian institutions. FIAC encourages all US institutions and individuals interested in Italian art and culture and the planning of events to contact the Foundation to discuss future collaborative

The Vatican Museums originated as a group of sculptures collected by Pope Julius II (1503-1513) and placed in what today is the “Cortile Ottagono” within the museum complex. The popes were among the first sovereigns who opened the art collections of their palaces to the public thus promoting knowledge of art history and culture. As seen today, the Vatican Museums are a complex of different pontifical museums and galleries that began under the patronage of the popes Clement XIV (1769-1774) and Pius VI (1775-1799).

The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most famous museums in the world given the rich amount of unique artworks and masterpieces conserved within its walls, the majority from the Renaissance period.

ounded in 1987, the Italian Art Society is dedicated to the study of Italian art and architecture from prehistory to the present day. With a membership of more than 250 established and emerging scholars, graduate students, and aficionados, the IAS is a vital force in generating new knowledge about the visual arts on the Italian peninsula and neighboring islands. It actively promotes scholarly exchange through the IAS/Kress Lecture Series in Italy, sponsored sessions at five major North American conferences (College Art Association, International Congress on Medieval Studies, Renaissance Society of America, Sixteenth Century Society & Conference, and Society of Architectural Historians), and travel grants for scholars presenting at these conferences. The IAS newsletter and website are further resources, designed to share news in to the field of Italian art studies and to enable members to engage each other on issues of mutual interest.

Siena is the embodiment of a medieval city. Its inhabitants pursued their rivalry with Florence right into the area of urban planning. Throughout the centuries, they preserved their city's Gothic appearance, acquired between the 12th and 15th centuries. During this period the work of Duccio, the Lorenzetti brothers and Simone Martini was to influence the course of Italian and, more broadly, European art. The whole city of Siena, built around the Piazza del Campo, was devised as a work of art that blends into the surrounding landscape.
