The Archives & Special Collections unit of the Library is pleased to host a series of programs to give College of Staten Island authors an opportunity to discuss their book-length publications.

Protocols in the Classroom: Tools to Help Students Read, Write, Think, and Collaborate (with co-authors Tina Blythe, Alan Dichter, and Terra Lynch)  Teachers College Press, 2018.

This book describes a range of protocols for classroom discussion and collaboration. It includes case studies from K-12 classrooms across the country to illustrate how the protocols can be used to transform classroom discourse from primarily teacher-led to student-led.

These books successfully translate into book form the popular podcast and multi-Emmy nominated television show StarTalk, a program that educates and entertains at the intersection of science and pop culture. The books convey information of academic value in entertaining ways; one for an adult audience and the other for children.

We all life through moments that we later realize had a beginning, a middle, and an end, moments that taught us a little something about what it means to be human. This book is about those moments, stripped of the superfluous.
