How do I recommend materials for the library?

Answer

The CSI Library welcomes the input of the College's teaching faculty in its collection development efforts. Faculty members are invited to recommend books, journals, and audio-visual materials for library purchase by completing the Library Materials Request Form. Before completing this form, please note the following:

  • While the CSI Library welcomes faculty suggestions, purchase decisions are ultimately dependent on the selection criteria outlined in the Collection Development Policy and based the availability of funds.
  • Priority is given to materials that: a) support the College's curriculum; b) are required course reading; and/or c) meet students' assignment needs.
  • Before requesting an item, please check the online catalog to ensure that the library does not already own it.
  • If we are unable to obtain the item(s) you suggest, you may wish to borrow the material through interlibrary loan.

For any course recommendations, please use the Course Reserve Request Form
